ACCUPLACER
What is the ACCUPLACER test?
The ACCUPLACER is a test to determine proficiency levels in Math, English, and Reading. Academic advisors and admissions’ counselors use the test results, along with transcripts, goals, and interests, to determine college course selection and placement. Student performance on the ACCUPLACER is evaluated in conjunction with the other assessments of the student’s academic readiness for university instruction.
Who takes the test?
Students may need to take the ACCUPLACER test if they:
- are a high school senior applying for fall term
- have a grade point average on the College Preparatory Curriculum that is below required level
- have a composite ACT score that does not reach the required level
In an effort to be proactive regarding the need to safeguard our university community, face-to-face ACCUPLACER testing will be suspended until further notice. Students who plan to attend DSU in the fall of 2024 may take the ACCUPLACER using Examity online proctoring service. The fee to test using Examity is $25.
